The amazing folks at Gather Here in Cambridge, MA are offering a really cool new class for embroidery and sewing TOGETHER! Two of my favorite things, obvs 😉 – but also:

After yesterday’s launch of the embroidery patterns and hot iron transfers, I’ve added a few more items for some last-minute Christmas shopping. (Wait, you don’t do that? Hmmm…)
There are some more pretty fabrics, folksy ribbons, and more.
Look, even something for a little girl in your life:
While working away at one of the several things I’m preparing for you guys (I hope to be ready to announce it soon), I did make progress on the embroidered shoulder pieces for the Róza blouse. In fact, I’m all done with the embroidery. As soon as I get a chance, I’ll sew up the whole blouse and post the pattern for you to download and stitch up. Friends, just a quick note to let you know I did a little update on the PDF version of the Róza pattern.
It now includes a print-at-copyshop option – i.e. a file I formatted so that you can take it to a copyshop and print it out on 36″ (90 cm) wide paper. The Read More…→

But I owed you this first, especially after how many of you have emailed me wanting a paper pattern after the first (tiny) run sold out.
First up, an update about the Kate & Rose shop. The response to the paper Roza pattern (which sold out!) and kits has been amazing, thank you to everyone who bought one! I would love to see what you made, so if you like, send me a quick note with a photo, or leave a link in comments if you have a blog/flickr/pinterest where you post your creations.
The shop will only carry digital Read More…→
Let me present to you the Róza DIY peasant blouse kit:
This is only one of three kits available now at an introductory price (really – I’ll never be able to make these happen for the same price again). Go take a look!
There were several things I really wanted to do with these kits. One, I wanted to make it really Read More…→
Another pretty Róza blouse sewn up by Chrissy! Take a look:
Chrissy used a double gauze fabric with smaller checks on one side and large checks on the other, making the front panel in the “reverse” of the rest of the blouse.
I love the effect! Chrissy is a very creative seamstress who I was Read More…→
