Selfish Sewing Week has begun! And some other news too

A big week is starting for Kate & Rose – starting with Selfish Sewing Week, organized by Rachael of Imagine Gnats and Jill of Made with Moxie!

I’m so thrilled that the very first pattern up is Kim of Milkybeer Handmade’s super-cute Róza blouse:

Go take a look – I love the birdies on the fabric! Oh, and don’t forget to enter the indie pattern giveaway.

Rachael and Jill have been busy ladies this year with their awesome Perfect Pattern Parcels. You’ve surely seen all the lovely things made with these parcels around the webs! I saw so many lovely kids’ clothes made with this parcel that it jumpstarted sewing for my girls again. (They’re a tough audience – I often read their minds incorrectly about what they thought I was making for them… I did figure out a little trick that helps which can be summarized thusly: sparkly knits.)

Jane of Buzzmills made this amazing embroidered dress for her daughter (using Parcel #2‘s September Tunic by Too Sweet Patterns), using a design from the Faraway Garden embroidery pattern on the front:

How gorgeous is it? I love the colors, this dress is so fresh for spring. And it’s an absolutely perfect way to use the Faraway Garden pattern.

Among this week’s other big events: it’s time for New Pattern Launch. One small embroidery pattern and the new women’s clothing collection are coming your way later this week! Stay tuned for details.

Can’t wait to see everyone’s versions of the new patterns! I just finished my 4th Roza over the weekend trying some chicken scratch embroidery and already have another in the works. I don’t know if I will ever get over my Roza fascination 🙂
