First up, an update about the Kate & Rose shop. The response to the paper Roza pattern (which sold out!) and kits has been amazing, thank you to everyone who bought one! I would love to see what you made, so if you like, send me a quick note with a photo, or leave a link in comments if you have a blog/flickr/pinterest where you post your creations.
The shop will only carry digital embroidery and sewing patterns (PDF instant downloads) from now until September, since these require no shipping. I will be traveling too much to be able to ship anything out in a remotely timely fashion. In August my daughters and I will be in Hungary to visit family, speak Hungarian, drive around the country, listen to music, drink lots of wine (okay – not so much my daughters). Andy will join us mid-August, just in time for the fireworks, craft fairs, and general revelry to celebrate August 20th. It’s kind of the best month to be in Hungary.
I will also be restocking the most popular embroidered blouse kits, and I have in mind yet another style that I hope to have made for the fall. In the meantime, I’m also working on more PDF patterns, both for clothing and embroidery, as much as time permits (time doesn’t really permit much these days.) Subscribe to the Kate & Rose newsletter if you’d like to be notified when new products are ready.
It’s the height of summer in NYC, and one of the (many) things that went wrong in my house in the past week and a half, we were without air conditioning for a while. Fun, when the humidity in the air is what, oh, 98%? This left me little energy to sew, but I did plan out a Roza variation I’ve since made.
What, you ask? Side ties! So okay, it’s not really a variation but more a workaround for using quilting weight cotton for a Róza blouse.
